For the side-to-side STC assessment, the bedroom in suite 301 was used as the source room, and the bedroom in suite 302 as receiver room. The wall between suites consisted of a layer of 5/8" Type X drywall screwed into a 1/2" resilient metal channel (also known as "Sound Bar").
The metal channgel was screwed directly onto a 6" DeltaSTUD. Another layer of 5/8" Type X drywall was screwed directly to the stud on the other side. the cavity in-between was filled with R20 batt insulation. An additional layer of regular 1/2" drywall was then adjoined to the 5/8" Type X drywall. This wall
assembly was also found on all walls adjacent to the corridor. (though these walls were not tested in this measurement).
